Farewell Precariously Balanced Wedding Cake Boutique.

To our surprise, the preliminary presentations for our retail stores, developed upon a given type of merchandise and concept, would be our last step with that particular merchandise and concept.  As a twist, we must now essentially switch projects with our classmates and build upon what they have already created.  My new concept is "asymmetrical rotation" and the merchandise is smart cars.

Above is the proposal I came up with for the wedding cake boutique based on the concept of "precarious balance."  The statement reads "Imitation of a seemingly perilously structured item found in nature for display purposes, optical illusions, a wonderfully over sized and disproportional lighting feature, and splashes of color that contrast the prevailing presence of black and white patterning and images all contribute to the unique, precariously balanced atmosphere of this space."  The proposal includes a model of the wedding cake bloom display, an example of an optical illusion floor, a representation of the reflective image wall with brightly colored framed pictures of the traditional cake-in-the-face routine at wedding receptions, an image of the over sized lighting feature, and of course a drawing of how I intended for the space to appear as a whole.
